Capture the Opportunity

holidayblueGot the post-holiday blues? For many people, the first half of January is a downer.  I, on the other hand, look upon January 1-15 as an exhilarating time of the year. As a strategic and execution planner, I welcome it as an INVALUABLE OPPORTUNTIY NOT TO BE PASSED UP.

Consider the old expression, “If you don’t know where you came from, how can you know where you’re going?”  For months, we’ve made projections and assumption. We now have actual results! If we pass up the opportunity to compare actual results to earlier assumptions, it’s easy to make a mistake! There is nothing wrong with updating and developing a version #2 (or 3 or 4…) of “The Plan” for 2015 before going to the next step of execution.

Look at your monthly sales, your gross margin, your expense categories, and your bonus plans. Based on actual results of 2014, is your current plan too conservative or too lofty? Now is the time to execute your new initiatives into action plans to create increased value for your business or organization. Use the most correct information taken from actual results to move to the next level.
